Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the World leaders and business tycoons at the Plenary session of World Economic Forum; says India has always believed in values of integration and unity, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', calls terrorism, Climate change, and nations becoming self-centered as 3 big challenges facing the world.
Speaking at the Plenary session of the World Economic Forum Annual Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dwelled on this year's theme 'creating a shared future in a fractured world'.
He said that peace, stability, and security stand challenged in the current times.
Speaking of changing times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that technology is both transforming as well as defining the current times. He described data as the most precious resource of today.
PM Modi shared India's ancient philosophy of "Vasudaiv Kutumbkam" that stresses on values of integration and unity at the global platform.
Climate Change topped the list of global Challenges that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about. Reciting a Sanskrit Shloka, he showcased India's environment-friendly heritage.
Lastly, Prime Minister listed self-centered protectionism as the third challenge.
WEF 2018 will also see the largest ever proportion of women leaders including all co-chairs being women this time.This year, over 3,000 global leaders from business, government, politics, academia and social sectors are participating at the Summit which will conclude on January 26.
