The country's second-largest rooftop solar power plant with a capacity of 5.76 MWp (megawatt peak) at its Pata petrochemicals complex in UP.
GAIL chairman B C Tripathi said the solar plant will reduce the company's carbon footprint and reduce carbon emissions by 6,300 tonnes per annum. The plant is expected to save the company Rs 5.5 crore annually in the energy bill and pay back the project's cost in about four years.
