India’s rank 105 and Germany topped the table: FIFA rankings
Sunil Chhetri-led Indian national team retained their 105th spot in the latest FIFA
rankings while Germany topped the table to be named the 'Team of the year'. After jumping up two positions to the 105 in the FIFA rankings in October, India has only played out a 2-2 draw with Myanmar in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, after they had already qualified for the Asian Cup in 2019. With 320 points, India retains their spot, having remained unbeaten for 13 matches.
India's last defeat came against Turkmenistan in the World Cup qualifiers in March 2016. The highest-ranked Asian team on the list are Iran on the 33rd spot with 798 points. After Iran, Japan and the Korea Republic occupy the 57th and 60th place as the second and third-highest ranked Asian teams.
