First in India, Agra municipal corporation comes with plan of gas heaters
In a first-of-its-kind move in the country, Agra municipal corporation has launched an initiative to provide gas heaters to the public at 10 major city intersections this winter. The move comes in the wake of the ban on the burning of firewood and cow dung cakes in the eco-sensitive Taj Trapezium Zone.
The gas heaters would not only provide better quality heat but also ensure there was no smoke or pollution. In the first list are government hospitals and railway stations. Agra is already choked with air pollution and is among the worst suffering cities from smog this winter.
Objective: To control pollution
