India and Colombia signed agreement in the areas of Agriculture and fisheries
The Cabinet approved the signing of an agreement between India and Colombia in the field of agriculture and fisheries. Under the MoU, a joint-working group (JWG) will be constituted to prepare/finalise the work plan for the next two years.
The MoU will be initially valid for five years and would be automatically extended for a subsequent period of five years unless either party expresses its desire to terminate it.
The co-operation would be in the areas of innovative agricultural practices/approaches, new agricultural mechanisation and successful models of agricultural marketing. The two countries would also co-operate to develop projects in association with agricultural companies for the production of seeds, among others.
