President Donald Trump has recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital, overturning
decades of US and international policy on the disputed holy city, a hugely controversial decision.Trump said he had 'judged this course of action to be in the best interests of the United States of America, and the pursuit of peace between Israel and the Palestinians'.
Trump said he has 'determined' that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and was directing the State Department to begin preparations to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
