Hyderabad traffic police won best project award
The Hyderabad Traffic Integrated Management System (H-TRIMS) of the City Traffic Police bagged the award for best practice projects in urban transportation under the ‘Best Intelligent Transport System Project’ category.
This was announced during the 10th Urban Mobility India conference. Hyderabad is one of the most developing cities in India and every day, over 700 new vehicles are added onto the roads. The city’s vehicle density of 723 per kilometre, is second largest in the country.
The State government had sanctioned Rs 66.50 crore for the project.
Objective of this project: The project provides signaling service round-the clock at 221 junctions and is remotely managed from the Traffic Control Centre. The project features include 221 signals enabled with virtual loop cameras for Adaptive Traffic Control and synchronised signals.
