India Follows Neighbours first policy : Sushma swaraj
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj inaugurated 15 Indian-assisted development projects worth about $8.7 million in Bangladesh and she said that neighbouring country Bangladesh comes first in India’s Neighbour First policy.
She concluded her two-day visit to Bangladesh. Ms Swaraj arrived in Bangladesh on Sunday for the annual meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission.
Highlights of Visit
1. The development projects, worth about $8.7 million, include installation of 11 water treatment plants in the southwestern coastline of Pirozpur, 36 community clinics
2. On the second and concluding day of her visit, Ms Swaraj opened the new building of Indian High Commission.
3. Assistance also included reconstruction of Dhaka’s historic Ramna Kali Temple destroyed by invading Pakistani troops in the 1971 liberation war.
